Welcome to the world N-EM-CEE

What an absolutely mad few months its been, well its been a mad few years really.

I should probably introduce myself to help put all of this into context, I’m Niamh I live in Manchester UK and have just finished a Masters at Manchester Fashion Institute. My degree was in Menswear Design and Technology, I won a Sustainable denim award at Graduate Fashion Week 2018 and as I said, I’ve just finished a Masters in Fashion & Business. N-EM-CEE was my “big” project at the end of the masters, putting everything I’d learned into use and to start a business that I think means something and can do some good.

I’ve been apprehensive about telling people that this brand started life as a university project as I don’t think it will be taken as seriously. But on the flip side of that I’m trying to get used to introducing myself in other ways than laying out my education for you as I did above… Because I don’t think people will take a 23 year old as seriously in business unless I say I have some kind of education to back it up. Tricky.

I don’t believe the education route is right for everyone, so I don’t ever want to seem like I say these things to validate this brand, I say them because I’m currently in a strange place in my head where I’m trying to figure out what title and introduction I give myself - if any. I want to be a person that does things, and N-EM-CEE is one of those things.

So, to circle back round. Hello I’m Niamh, and N-EM-CEE is my brand and one of the things I do, I want to use it to show clothing can be made slowly and stick to the values I hold.
